HOMOTHETIE
Définition :
Soit un point O, qu’on appellera centre,
et un nombre k, qu’on
appellera rapport.
Si A est un point, l’image de A par l’homothétie de centre O et de rapport k est :
Si A est un point, l’image de A par l’homothétie de centre O et de rapport k est :
► si k est positif : le point A’ appartenant à [OA) tel
que OA’ = k ✕ OA
► si k est négatif : le point A’ appartenant à [AO) tel
que OA’ = - k ✕ OA
Construction :
- Construction de l'image d'un point par une homothétie de rapport positif :
- Construction de l'image d'un point par une homothétie de rapport négatif :
Exemples :
1) Ici,
on a d’abord tracé le triangle marron ABC.
Puis on a tracé son homothétie de centre O et de rapport 3.
On obtient le triangle violet A’B’C’.
Le triangle violet A’B’C’ est un agrandissement du triangle marron ABC.
2) Ici, on a d’abord tracé le quadrilatère vert EFGH.
Puis on a tracé son homothétie de centre M et de rapport -2.
On obtient le quadrilatère rouge E’F’G’H'.
Le quadrilatère rouge E’F’G’H' est un agrandissement du quadrilatère vert EFGH.
Remarques :
► si k 〉1 (ou k〈 -1) : l'homothétie correspond à un agrandissement.
► si 0〈 k〈 1 (ou -1〈 k〈 0) : l'homothétie correspond à une réduction.
